Client: Wessex Skin Clinic, Winchester
Problem: To create a logo, branding and interior design of a new, specialist skin clinic.
Market: The new clinic needed to reach two distinct markets. One market was those who were in a position to buy cosmetic enhancement techniques, and the other was via NHS surgeon referrals.

Creative Solutions 1: White Cat Design were chosen to create the logo and brand image for the clinic. We worked with the interior designers throughout to ensure that the logo and branding colours could be matched with the specialist clinical specification paint and fabrics available. It was important that we all worked in tandem and kept each other informed at every stage of the build and fit.
Kim produced a logo that was modern without being obtrusive, upmarket without being exclusive, and bright without being garish. The type for the logo was hand-drawn by altering a familiar modern typeface, and the colours were kept to shades of a friendly, trust-building blue and white, which also reflected the high standards of hygiene required for surgical procedures.
The main logo - in the blue block - was designed for all uses from printed stationery and promotional items through to signage, and the free-standing type logo was designed to be used on all internal, electronic form systems and website. The client needed internal procedure forms as well as printed stationery, so these were supplied to him as Word templates for the receptionists and nurses to fill in. As a subsidiary logo to the main one, the word 'skin' was intended as a stand-alone on continuation documents and emails.

Creative Solutions 2: Kim worked with the interior designers to ensure that the branding worked throughout the whole building. We designed internal wall-hung lightboxes using a graphical interpretation of skin cells under microscopic conditions in the same shades of the logo blue, and over-layed with the secondary logo 'skin'. We also supplied designs and visuals for external signage, though neither has yet been actioned by the client.

Client feedback: The client was very pleased with the new logo, and apart from minor colour changes, our initial visuals were adopted without amendment. We were subsequently asked to provide all the graphics for the client's new website, though we had no part in the actual site build or development.
