Client: Childhood's Dreams, toy shop in Winchester.
Problem: The clients were due to open a brand new toy shop in WInchester, and as they were starting from scratch, they needed everything except for the name that they already owned.
Market: Dealing in hand-made, high quality toys, the market consisted mainly of a middle to high end customer base who preferred quality over quantity, and who were likely to buy toys for children that they either dreamed of owning when they were young, or who wanted their children to experience the same pleasure that their favourite toys gave them when they were young.

Creative Solutions 1: The first thing White Cat Design produced was the logo - affectionately known as 'The Heap of Sheep'. The logo had to appeal to both children and adults, so needed to be friendly and colourful without being patronising or dull or resort to over-used toyshop cliches. The sheep were hand-drawn by Kim so that each had it's own personality, and the typeface she chose to use was a modern, easy to read and child-friendly font that was also exclusive and award-winning in it's own right. When considering type for bespoke logos, Kim will often use a font for the logo itself that is only available through specialist suppliers and altering it so that the logo can't easily be copied. She does this to protect both the logo and her client's interests. The idea for the sheep themselves was a fushion between the ethereal, dream-like quality of fluffy white clouds in a blue summer sky, the way children draw them, and the counting sheep at night before going to sleep.
Creative Solutions 2: Once the logo was approved, White Cat Design produced stationery, labels, flyers and badges, gift vouchers and carrier bags; all of them heavily sheep branded and themed. Whilst the shop was being prepared and fitted internally, White Cat Design produced A2 posters for the window to whet the appetite and arouse the curiosity of passing traffic. As the shop is situated in close proximity to traffic lights, it means it is ideally placed to nurture and arouse interest.
Kim designed internal and external signage for the shop, as well as themed press advertisements to coincide with the grand opening. From supplying all the design and artwork, Kim also procured and delivered the print, sourced and liaised with the signwriter and the builder preparing the shop itself. The only part of the project that White Cat Design were not involved with was the website, which the clients preferred to do entirely by themselves.
Client feedback: On seeing the visuals of their new logo for the first time, the clients were absolutely delighted. White Cat Design completely exceeded their creative expectations, and loved their sheep from day one. All of the print was sourced by White Cat Design from FSC accredited printers and delivered personally by Kim herself within a very tight deadline.
