Client: Solent Environmental Services (Asbestos) Ltd, Southampton.
Problem: The client felt that their existing logo, branding and promotional literature did not in any way reflect their high level of professionalism, qualifications, abilities and experience, and felt this was holding the company back from achieving its true potential.
Market: Large asbestos removal contracts, mainly public sector and large, private construction companies.

Creative Solution 1: Having carefully studied the asbestos removal market and all national competitors, Kim came up with a logo design that reflected the company's high standards and their passion for the environment. We felt it was very important to give asbestos removal a new face that was at the same time optimistic and trustworthy, and a logo and branding that stood out from all of the competition. The use of Solent's branding is strictly monitored to ensure that it always appears in the most eye-catching and memorable formats, and was designed from day one to be used across a wide range of media.
Rather than have a brochure at this stage, we persuaded the client  to have a folder instead that could also be used to send letters, quotes and information out in. Not only was this more useful and sustainable than a brochure, but by ensuring it was generic we were able to give it a far longer shelf life.

Creative Solution 2: Having re-branded the company through all stationery, promotional literature, van livery, roadside signage and advertising, the next stage was the creation of a website that could be regularly updated by the client, and that would have a client log-on area so customers could check how their contracts were progressing on-line. The website also needed to have employee log-in behind so that operatives would be able to file paperwork and job progress on-line whilst they were still on site. Kim designed all the pages of a new CMS websitesite, and sub-contracted the build to two preferred web developers - one to custom-build the CMS, and one who specialises in building and hosting back-end additions.

Creative Solution 3: To coincide with the launch of the new website, Kim produced Solent's first, 4 page A4 newsletter. This went out to the many existing contacts on the client's database, as well as to new customers and to new markets that had recently been identified. The main aim of this first newsletter was to get customers on to the new site so that they would become familiar with it prior to the client log-in area going live. It also contained case studies that highlighted the diversity of Solent's expertise and interesting facts about asbestos and health & safety legislation.
The newsletter was received so well that Kim designed and produced another one six months later, and which again proved profitable and beneficial to the client. White Cat Design are about to start work on the third newsletter.

Creative Solution 4: As further promotional material, we designed bespoke mugs and coasters for the client, which are used in-house as well as given away to existing customers and contacts, and which are also used as sales tool to all new and potential clients. This way, we are ensuring that the name Solent Environmental is always on everyone's lips!

Creative Solution 5: Having built up revenue through the re-branding, promotional and marketing material and website, the client was in a position to be able to produce custom advertising. Because one of their main areas of expertise is in the asbestos removal from educational buildings, Kim designed and wrote a full page advertisement to run in trade educational publications.
Client feedback: The client was delighted with White Cat Design's new logo for his company, and we continue to strive for their success. The client ensures that we are involved in all stages of the Company's growth, and we are proud to have been working with them since 2006.
