Client: Frances Bodington Associates & The Shine Academy. Image consultants and training academy, Surrey.
Problem: There were two separate areas to concentrate on, though these were both inexorably linked. Firstly, we needed to re-launch the client's business following a change of her business plans and secondly, we needed to brand and market her new training academy.
Market: The image consultancy side of the business is mainly corporate based, so we needed to target companies who already recognise the importance of their employees appearance and the way they interact with their customers on a daily basis. The training academy market was a broad spectrum of individuals from a wide range of social backgrounds, though are predominantly middle class females who care passionately about the way they look, and / or are at a stage in their life where they want to radically change their career or their working situations.

Creative Solutions 1: The client approached White Cat Design because she recognised that we would produce something completely original for her that was totally different from anything her competitors had or were likely to have. Being in the business of image, the client recognises the importance of how we are perceived by others in of our everyday lives, and has quantifiable and experienced views on what was needed.
Kim exceeded her expectations when she presented the initial logo visuals. She designed a logo that was completely different and that fitted the client and her business extremely well. Kim began the design of the logo by deconstructing the name until all she was left with was the bare minimum of forms that could still be read as a word. She did this to reflect the way that the client takes unnecessary trappings away from her customers, and then rebuilds that which remains.

Creative Solutions 2: Once the deconstructed logo was approved, Kim went on to design and produce all the stationery, networking postcards, folders, and press advertisements needed to market the business initially. The headline for the advertisement - "Be the one to shine" , coupled with the image she sourced of a pearl in a pea pod, gave the new training academy it's name - The Shine Academy. Kim then created the logo for the Shine Academy, as well as promotional literature, folders, certificates and manual covers. Kim also drew the figure illustrations for the manual itself.

Creative Solutions 3:
The website Kim designed was a simple, bespoke CMS site that the client to change herself whenever she needed without having to involve a web developer. The build of the site was sub-contracted to one of our preferred web developers who was able to work closely with the client throughout the process. White Cat Design generally prefer to work this way in order that the client remains in control of their project as well as making sure that everything is correct before the site goes live. It also ensures that we give the client the best possible service at all times with only ever having to deal with individual specialists in their field.
Client feedback: The client loved all of the work we produced for her, and we are delighted that we are still working with her on new material as her business moves forward.
